Ceramic Core Solutions supplies a very comprehensive range of refractory materials and additives that have selected and optimised for use within a ceramic core manufacturing process.

As well as providing several off the shelf materials we also work with you to customize materials to meet your exact requirements, all our materials are subject to regular testing on items including thermal dilation, thermal expansion, permeability, density, refractoriness and particles size distribution.

Fused Alumina

Fused alumina (also known as corundum or aluminium oxide) is the family name for inorganic compounds with the chemical formula Al2O3. Alumina is a dense material produced from bauxite. The product has a low iron content making it particularly valuable in refractory and investment casting applications.

Zircon Sand

Zirconia is a natural mineral product, calcined at high temperature. It is a pure zirconium silicate, known as “zircon” available in various grain sizes.  Zircon is used in the production of refractories, foundry coatings and ceramic systems within the investment casting sector.

Fused Silica

Fused silica is high purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. Our fused silica has an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, consistent chemistry and carefully controlled particle size distribution. Fused silicas from Ceramic Core Solutions have been optimised for use within the ceramic core manufacturing sector.

Mullite

Mullite material supplied by Ceramic Core Solutions is of the highest quality. Mullite is an excellent, low-cost refractory material with a nominal composition of Al2O3 and SiO2. Mullite demonstrates excellent high temperature properties with excellent thermal shock and thermal stress properties.

Calcined Alumina

Our range of calcined alumina has been developed using a unique process to deliver exceptionally tight grain size control. This material is actively used in the production of precision refractory products and ceramic injection moulded products.

Paraffin Wax

Ceramic Core Solutions stock a variety of paraffin waxes for a multitude of uses, Paraffin waxes are commonly used in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, coatings, polishes, and investment casting. Our range of paraffin waxes are compatible with most mineral and vegetable waxes. They are also compatible with a variety of natural and synthetic resins.

Microcrystalline Wax

Microcrystalline waxes are characterized by the fineness of its crystals in contrast to the larger crystals of paraffin wax. It is generally darker, more viscous, denser, tackier, and more elastic than paraffin waxes, microcrystalline waxes also have a higher molecular weight and melting point. We maintain stock of a variety of microcrystalline waxes designed for several investment casting applications.

Cobalt Aluminate

Cobalt aluminate is produced by sintering cobalt oxide with aluminium oxide. It is extremely stable and historically it has been used as a colouring agent in ceramics. Cobalt aluminate is often used to create primary shell slurry and also as a coating used during the production of ceramic cores to improve the surface grain of superalloy investment castings.

Magnesium Oxide

Magnesium oxide nanoparticles are odourless and non-toxic. They possess high hardness, high purity, and a high melting point. Magnesium oxide nanoparticles appear in a white powder form. Magnesium oxide nanoparticles are often applied in electronics, ceramics, petrochemical products, coatings, and several other industrial fields.

Cristobalite

Ceramic Core Solutions supply a range of high grade cristobalite materials that are used within the ceramic core manufacturing industry. Calcining quality is ensured using x-ray diffraction techniques. We supply both cristobalite sands and flours in a variety of grain sizes.
